Layouts can have more than only table views inside of them. For example, another option you can do is to add detail views from transactions or accounts like this:
Trigger the Select entity command (cmd + p), search for the item you want to add to your layout and select it.
After selecting your item, trigger the Open to the side command.
A new panel with your item contained in it should be added into your layout afterwards.
