This will be sometimes necessary, for example in the case of expenses that were paid in advance such as a yearly gym membership that should be spread across twelve months instead of a single expense.
- Select the transaction to be amortized and add the necessary splits.
- Expand the transaction detail view so you can see the postings as a grid instead of cards
- Select all split postings (not the main posting) and categorize them with the appropriate category.
- Add an “accrual date” to each posting corresponding to the date in which the expense should be added to.
